South Wales Police are appealing for information into the disappearance of a 32-year-old man from the Aberdare area.

Jordan Moray was last seen by his family on 24th July. A friend reported seeing Mr Moray on 29th July in Bro Deg, Cwmbach.

Mr Moray, who lives in Cwmbach, was reported missing on August 2nd by his family, who are described as ''extremely concerned for his welfare.''

Relatives visiting Mr Moray's flat found that it had been left unlocked. His mobile phone was also left at the address, something which they say is out of character.

Specialist searches have been carried out around his home address and in the area where he was last seen.

Detective Inspector David Cole urged anyone with information to come forward.

"We are really concerned for Jordan - his disappearance is out of character. Our enquiries to trace him are continuing, including CCTV, speaking with witnesses and searches of Jordan’s flat and the surrounding area and the area around the reported sighting of Jordan on 29th July.

Jordan is an outdoor enthusiast who has extensive knowledge of the local area. I would urge anybody who has seen or heard from him or who has information about where he may be should contact us immediately.

I am very grateful for the information we have received from members of the public so far and we are continuing to follow up all reported sightings of Jordan."

Mystery woman may hold clues to disappearance of missing Jordan Moray

Police searching for a missing man who disappeared leaving his mobile phone in his unlocked flat are appealing for help to trace a woman who may have important information.

Now details have been released of woman who is believed to have visited his house in Aberdare in the weeks before he vanished.

The woman is described as being in her 20s, with long dark hair and driving an "old style" blue or purple Ford Fiesta.

Police said 32-year-old Mr Moray was seen getting into the vehicle and being dropped off at his Cwmbach home prior to his disappearance.

A friend of the family has put forward a £2,000 reward for information.

Is he still missing?

Officers continuing to investigate the disappearance of Jordan Moray are appealing to a man named Kevin Humphreys to get in touch.

Kevin recently wrote to South Wales Police and provided some information which officers believe may help their ongoing investigation.
Attempts to identify Mr Humphreys have so far proved negative, so it’s hoped that a public appeal will encourage him to get in touch once again.

Jordan Moray has now been missing for over three months.

Detective Inspector Dai Cole, who is investigating Jordan’s disappearance, said: “Hopefully, Mr Humphreys, or somebody who knows him, will see this appeal and make contact.

“In his letter, he provided information which could be significant without him realising it.
“Jordan’s disappearance is a mystery and any new leads which may help us understand where he is at this time will be helpful.”

"DI Cole added: “We know Jordan enjoys walking in places such as Cwmbach, the wider Aberdare area and as far afield as Brecon. It is not unusual for Jordan to walk in excess of 20 miles a day, usually off the beaten track on mountain trails. With this in mind, I would like to direct my appeal to those who also enjoy the outdoors, who may share his enjoyment of the same things and places.”

"Anyone with any information is asked to contact 101 and give reference *284205.

Alternatively they can contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."

So the potential sighting is someone that Spoke to Jordan in September 2020 in Stratford Upon Avon September 2020. He said that he had living ‘ off grid’ for 18 months and told him he was from Wales. The person said he thought was Jordan but didnt know he was missing till he saw a picture of Jordan on a police website and recognised him straight away.
So my thoughts, obviously serious enough about the sighting for police to release this information. When a welsh person speaks u usually know they are from Wales. If he is living off grid Stratford upon Avon is not the remotest place.
He just has to tell the police he is fine and he will be left alone, lets hope the sighting is Jordan.

The missing people in Wales who have never been found

Jordan Moray went missing when he was 33. His front door had been left unlocked, his PlayStation was still running, and his mobile phone was on charge. This was in July 24 2019.

He hasn't been seen since disappearing from his home in Cwmbach, Aberdare. His distraught mum made a desperate appeal for Jordan to make contact in 2020. Jordan’s disappearance was completely out of character and it sparked immediate concern among family, friends, and police.

A huge search followed which involved specialist search teams and members of the community searching surrounding mountainsides and waterways for clues as to what may have happened to him.

The search effort even reached as far as the Brecon Beacons because of his love of the outdoors and especially that part of the world. Officers have trawled through hours and hours of CCTV footage in the hope that cameras have somehow picked Jordan up on his travels but have found nothing.

However in March 2021 police disclosed they had been contacted two months earlier “by a man who claims to have spoken to Jordan in the Stratford-upon-Avon area”.

A South Wales Police spokesman said at the time: “He stumbled upon an appeal to find Jordan on the police website and recognised him straightaway. He told officers that the man who he believes was Jordan had told him that he sleeps rough and had been living ‘off the grid’ for 18 months – [and] also told him that he was from Wales.”

Detective inspector Gareth Davies said: “We have spoken to the man in Stratford-upon-Avon who is quite confident that the person he was speaking to was Jordan. Since he went missing we have never ruled anything out and we can’t be certain that it was Jordan himself. But, of course, this potential sighting gives tremendous hope to everybody involved in the search that Jordan is alive and well.

“We, or his family, must be able to see and or speak to Jordan in person to determine that he is okay. I am appealing to Jordan himself and urge him to make contact. However I appreciate that if he is living off the grid then the chances of him seeing this appeal are slim.

“So anybody who thinks they may have seen him should contact us immediately. And anybody who sees him after reading this appeal should urge Jordan to contact his family or the police to confirm he is safe and well.”

The mother of Jordan Moray, who has been missing now for three years, has made a heartfelt plea for her son to return home and for anybody with information about where he is to contact police.

Debbie Moray, who lives in Aberdare just a short distance from the flat from where her son disappeared, agreed to make a film in the hope that it would help the ongoing police investigation which has not turned up any new leads for some time.

Jordan Moray was 33 years-old when he disappeared without a trace in July, 2019.

The door of his flat was left unsecure and his games console was still running. His mobile phone was left on charge. Despite a thorough investigation by South Wales Police, his whereabouts remain unknown.

There has no sign of life – no financial transactions, and no contact.

WATCH: Debbie Moray's video appeal

Debbie Moray said: “Jordan is independent and always keeps himself to himself. He’s pretty quiet really. He loves the outdoor life – he would phone me and ask me to pick up a couple of disposable barbeques and a steak. He’d meet me and he’d go up the mountain and eat it up there, for hours and hours.

“The police had forensics in inside his flat but I think he’s gone of his own accord. His rucksack’s gone, his headlamp has gone, and his trainers. We’re heartbroken.”

In January 2021, Debbie had been given a glimmer of hope by a possible sighting in the Stratford Upon Avon area. A man claims to have spoken to Jordan in September (2020), and later on, he saw an appeal to find him on the police website when he recognised him straight away. There have been further possible sightings in the area.

Debbie added:“Me and my husband go up there [to Stratford] and we just walk around for hours and hours. It’s like looking for a needle in a haystack but we keep doing it. We put posters up there - wherever we go we put up posters. But it could be somebody who just looks like Jordan and I understand that.”

Debbie said that the family have pulled together since Jordan disappeared and the local community have been supportive.

“Fabulous my family has been and the community have been really good. I search the mountains and the forestry regularly. As soon as we hear something [possible sighting] we’re there. My brother and his wife constantly go all around the mountains on foot and by bike. Jordan’s brother does too.”

Detective Inspector Gareth Davies, said:

“The man in Stratford Upon Avon who is quite confident that the person he was speaking to was Jordan. Since he went missing, we have never ruled anything out, and we can’t be certain that it was Jordan himself. But, of course, this potential sighting gave and still gives hope to everybody involved in the search that Jordan is alive and well.

“We, or his family, must be able to see and or speak to Jordan in person to determine that he is okay. I am appealing to Jordan himself, and urge him to make contact, however I appreciate that if he is living off the grid, then the chances of him seeing this appeal are slim.

“So anybody who thinks they may have seen him should contact us immediately. Anybody who thinks they have seen him after reading this appeal should urge Jordan to contact his family or the police to confirm he is safe and well.

“Jordan’s mum and his family are desperate for confirmation that he is alive and well and want Jordan to know that they are not angry for him leaving the way he did but are in despair at not knowing where he is and if he is ok. They appreciate that Jordan may not want to return as much as they would love him to but just ask for that confirmation,” he added.

South Wales Police have been working closely with Warwickshire Police since the sightings were reported.

Jordan hasn’t been seen by anybody who knows him since he was reported missing on 2nd August.

Following an initial appeal, police were able to place him in his village, Bro Deg on 24th July, just over a week before.

His disappearance was completely out of character and it sparked immediate concern among family, friends and police.

A huge search followed which involved specialist search teams and members of the community. Officers have poured over hours and hours of CCTV footage and searched local areas, surrounding mountainsides and waterways for clues as to what may have happened to him.

Anyone with information should call 101 quoting reference *284205. Alternatively contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
