I learned about this while reading my copy if Todays Quilter Issue 40. I picked up at my local grocery store in Kent Washington.

They made a replica of his house,into a museum.

I find old cases like this very interesting. I will do a little digging and see if there is anything new I can find out.

The poor man was cut 44 times! And all that was taken - few pieces of silver. From the way the cottage was apparently ransacked, it seems like someone must have believed the rumor that Joe Beamer had some hidden money.

I think he may have surprised someone looking for the money.

Joe the Quilter certainly deserved better.

I am a quilter too and this story is fascinating. How cool would it be if it could be solved.

My mother’s side is from England. I would need to take a deep dive into my ancestry to see if there’s any connection.
