WILTSHIRE Police is concerned about the welfare of a man who has gone missing from Amesbury.

Kiran Pun, 36, is last believed to have been seen at his home address on December 1 when he was due to catch a train to visit a friend in the Hampshire area.

The police have said Kiran’s disappearance is "out of character".
The picture attached shows the clothing Kiran was wearing when he was last seen.

He is described as approximately 5 ft 8 – 5 ft 9 inches tall, with black short hair, brown eyes and a slim face. He has a scar on his chin.

Officers investigating the disappearance of 36-year-old Kiran Pun (pictured in the CCTV collage) from Amesbury, Wiltshire, have made an arrest.

A 36-year-old man from Aldershot has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in police custody at this time.

We are still yet to locate Kiran, who was last seen at around 7.30pm on Thursday 1 December getting off a bus at Aldershot railway station.

Detective Inspector Howard Broadribb said: “We know this arrest will come as a shock to the community. This action has been taken on the basis of all the information available to police at this time, and is necessary to assist us in progressing our enquiries to establish what has happened to Kiran.

“Kiran has not been seen for some time now, and we still need to hear from anyone in the community who might have seen him since his disappearance, or has any information that will assist our investigation.”

Kiran has links to Aldershot, Farnborough, Basingstoke and Andover.

A second man has been arrested as part of the investigation into the disappearance of Kiran Pun, 36.

A 29-year-old from Fleet has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in custody at this time.

A 36-year-old Aldershot man we previously arrested on suspicion of murder also remains in custody while enquiries continue.

We are still yet to locate Kiran, from Amesbury, Wiltshire, who was last seen at around 7.30pm on Thursday 1 December getting off a bus at Aldershot railway station.

A 29-year-old man from Fleet who was arrested on suspicion of murder has been released on police bail to return on 24 March 2023.

A 36-year-old man from Aldershot who was arrested on suspicion of murder has been released on police bail to return on 23 March 2023.

We are still yet to locate Kiran, from Amesbury, Wiltshire, who was last seen at around 7.30pm on Thursday 1 December getting off a bus at Aldershot railway station.

More arrests
Officers investigating the disappearance of Kiran Pun have today made three further arrests as part of our enquiries.

Kiran, from Amesbury, Wilts, was last seen around 7.30pm on Thursday 1 December, getting off a bus at Aldershot Railway Station.

We are yet to locate the 36-year-old and our searches continue.

As part of our enquiries, we have today made three arrests.

A 21-year-old man, 20-year-old man and 17-year-old boy, all from Farnborough, have been arrested on suspicion of murder.

They all remain in custody at this time.

It brings the total number of arrests in connection with the investigation to five.

A 29-year-old man from Fleet, who was arrested on suspicion of murder, has been released on police bail to return on 24 March 2023.

A 36-year-old man from Aldershot, who was arrested on suspicion of murder, has been released on police bail to return on 23 March 2023.

DCI Adam Edwards said: "We are continuing to work hard to find out where Kiran may be, and try to piece together his movements prior to and since the last sighting at Aldershot Railway Station.

"As part of this, we have been conducting searches in Aldershot, around the area of the station, and this will continue.

We are today calling on anyone with CCTV, dash cam or other footage which may assist us in piecing together the movements of missing Kiran Pun to get in touch.

Kiran, from Amesbury, Wilts, was last seen around 7.30pm on Thursday 1 December, getting off a bus at Aldershot Railway Station, having travelled there from Farnborough.

We are yet to locate the 36-year-old and as part of our enquiries would ask anyone who may have footage with him to take a look for that day. This includes Ring doorbells or anything else which could have captured his movements.

In order to receive this, we have today set up an online portal where any footage can be submitted to us.

DCI Roger Wood said: "I want to ask anyone who may have footage which captures Kiran, particularly anyone who lives or was in the vicinity of Aldershot Railway Station, to please take a look at it and send it to us to help us continue piecing together Kiran's movements on the evening of December 1.

"Your footage could be vital in providing some further clarity and answers for Kiran's family and helping us to locate him.

"However small something may seem, it could be vitally important to us, so please get in touch with us."

Officers investigating the disappearance of Kiran Pun are today urging those who were on the bus with him to get in touch.

The 36-year-old took the number 1 bus from Farnborough to Aldershot on December 1, getting off it near the railway station just after 7.30pm.

In particular we wish to speak with the person at the top of the stairs in this photo, who we know got off the bus at the same time.

If this is you or you were on the bus that night, please call 101, as anything you may have seen or heard could assist our enquiries.

Officers investigating the disappearance of Kiran Pun have identified a further sighting on Aldershot on December 1.

Having arrived in the town just after 7.30pm, the 36-year-old walked from the railway station - where he had got off the number 1 bus - along East Station Road at 7.38pm.

Kiran is described as being approximately 5ft 8 – 5ft 9ins tall, with black short hair, brown eyes and a slim face. He has a scar on his chin.

He has links to Aldershot, Farnborough, Basingstoke and Andover.

As part of our efforts to piece together his movements on the night of his disappearance, we are urging anyone with information which may assist to get in touch.

DCI Adam Edwards, from Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary's Major Crime Department, said: "We have real concerns that something terrible has happened to Kiran, and we need the support of the people to help establish what has happened and where he is now.

"The considerable upset his disappearance has caused his family and his friends is difficult to convey, and we are doing all we can to try and provide them the answers they are seeking.

Having travelled to Farnborough by train, Kiran, from Amesbury, then took the bus to Aldershot on Thursday 1 December.

The sighting on East Station Road just before 7.40pm is the last known sighting we have of him before he disappeared.

DCI Edwards added: "Having walked south from the railway station along East Station Road, we have evidence of him between the junctions for St George's Road and St Michael's Road.

"Kiran is likely to have walked in one of three directions from here; South through Manor Park, north east towards the High Street or south west in the direction of Manor Walk.

"If there is any chance whatsoever that you have footage from this area, then please can we ask you take a look and save this before getting in touch with us urgently.

"I cannot overstate how significant this could be for our investigation.

"Thank you to anyone who has shared our appeals so far, or who has come forward with information, your help and support is crucial and is appreciated."

Officers investigating the disappearance of Kiran Pun have found a body in Brickfields Country Park, Aldershot.

The discovery was made on Sunday (January 15), around 3pm, when a body was located in an area of shrubbery.

While formal identification has not yet been completed, we do believe this to be Kiran, 36, and his family have been informed.

They continue to be supported by specialist officers as we continue our investigation.

DCI Adam Edwards, Head of Major Crime at Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary, said: "We are working hard now to understand what has happened to Kiran and to be able to provide answers to his family at what is no doubt a very difficult time for them.

"We are keeping an open mind and will be making a number of enquiries in the coming days to formally identify him, with a post mortem due to take place tomorrow.

He had travelled by train from Andover to Farnborough, before taking the Number 1 bus from there to Aldershot Railway Station.

Found roughly 15 minutes walk from where last seen. It will be interesting to see if they can determine cause of death, and if any of the five bailed are rearrested.

Following a post mortem, we can now provide you with a further update on the sad death of Kiran Pun in Aldershot.

Officers investigating his disappearance have now determined that his death was not suspicious.

The 36-year-old's body was located in an area of shrubbery in Brickfields Country Park, Aldershot, on Sunday afternoon (January 15).

His family have been informed of this update and continue to be supported by specialist officers. A file will be prepared for the coroner.

Five people arrested on suspicion of murder as part of our enquiries to locate Kiran have now been released with no further action taken.

DCI Adam Edwards, Head of the Major Crime Department at Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary, said: "Our thoughts are with Kiran's family at this very difficult time.

"Our team have worked tirelessly to try and piece together Kiran's movements, locate him and provide his family with the answers they have been seeking about what happened to him.

"As part of our enquiries, we did make arrests on suspicion of murder, which was done on the basis of the information available to us and to enable us to conduct a full and thorough investigation into what had taken place.

"I want to thank everyone who has come forward with information throughout our enquiries."
