I guess Ayrshire police meant Monday 18th?

The correct date IS Monday 18th, but actually the error is mine, not that of the police. I didn't know I'd made it until you pointed it out! The text I used in my post came from an updated police appeal, which didn't give the date for some reason. The original appeal DID give the date. In my desire to be helpful, I added the date in square brackets, but quite why I have used the 23rd is anybody's guess. Sorry for creating such confusion.

Police Scotland Ayrshire are re-appealing for information to help trace 43-year-old Laura Wilkie after new information revealed she was last seen sitting on a bench near the Millennium Bridge in Ayr around 8.30pm on Monday, 18 December, 2023.

At this time, Laura was distinctively dressed – she was wearing a dark padded coat with a beige fur-trimmed hood and a dark waterproof coat over the top.She was also wearing black leggings, black footwear and carrying a black rucksack.

She is described as 5ft 4ins and of very slim build. Her hair is greying and closely cropped.

Chief Inspector Kevin Lammie, Local Area Commander, said: “Concerns for Laura’s welfare are growing, and we are appealing for people to think back. Have you seen her in the Ayr and, in particular, Ayr beach and the Doonfoot area of Ayr since Monday?

“She uses a distinctive blue cane, and it is believed she had it with her when she was last seen
“Our extensive enquiries remain ongoing, but she remains missing. Her family are extremely worried.

The middle photo above is very sad - I wonder how it came to be taken? The sighting of Laura by the Millennium Bridge at 8.30 pm is very worrying. The bridge is not in the town centre, and I suspect that there may have been very few people around at the time.
She looks frail and vulnerable in the latest photos. So different from the earlier one.

I've only just seen this lady is missing on the national news, I'm sorry Laura it's taken this long to get your name out there. I wonder with the Rucksack she was planning a trip or found it easier to carry shopping etc with needing to use a cane. She looks so sad and i noticed from the description on the news she now wears her hair very short cropped and grey so her appearance has changed dramatically and perhaps an indication of her health. oh I hope you're found soon Laura you're only 43 and got alot of living to do.
