Dad’s relief as body of son missing for 23 years identified

A GRIEVING dad told last night how he is finally at peace after a man who was killed 23 years ago was identified as his missing son.

Derek Burns, 73, and wife Diana, 72, have never given up their search for the teenager, also Derek, after he vanished aged 19.

He disappeared after visiting his girlfriend’s home in London in 1989.

But police DNA tests have now shown the body of a man hit by a train in the city that year was him.
