New picture released of missing woman Lorraine Easom - Oxford

"Thames Valley Police is releasing a new image of missing woman Lorraine Easom as the search continues to attempt to locate her.

The 55-year-old was reported missing on Monday 11 March.

She was last seen in Harpes Road, at around lunchtime on Friday 8 March."

I hope this lady is found safe and well soon. I see her Facebook mentions that she loves water - I hope that she isn't found in it. Far, far too many poor souls being found in water recently.

Re-appeal to trace missing woman - Oxford

Thames Valley Police is continuing to appeal for the public’s help in tracing a missing woman from Oxford.

Lorraine Easom, who also uses the first name Claudia, aged 55, was reported missing to police on Monday (11/3).

She was seen in a property in Harpes Road, Summertown, last Wednesday (6/3) by a relative. A further sighting of her has subsequently been reported in Harpes Road, at lunchtime on Friday (8/3).

Her daughter Sophie Haines has today (13/3) made a direct appeal for information in relation to her mother. She said: “Anyone who has seen or spoken to my mum –please please make contact with the police – I just want my mum home.

“To my darling Mummy, if you are reading this please come home. I love you, I miss you, I want to share my life with you and listen to your beautiful poetry. I just want to hug you so we can look at all the bunnies and be there for each other. Always yours, Sophie Rose x.”

I don’t have a vey good feeling about this case. I have had a little search about on her FB and I picked up a vibe re: health/anxiety/depression.

Very spiritual, creative woman...I hope she finds her way home.

Oh so sad. It kind of baffles me why she was not found before this. This is so close, as you say and they were surely searching the river there? Possibly there is some logical explanation.

Well, this is a sad ending.
I hope there will be some kind of investigation as she didn’t seem to go for walks without her bike to lean on and yet that was found at the house. Maybe she used a walking stick?
Rest in peace Claudia <3

I wanted to see how close she was found, as I am not from this area, and it was really close:
Google Maps

As I did not have an address on Harpes Road, and the river is a bit of a walk off of Water Eaton Road, the distance could be approximately twice what is given on google maps: 912 feet (0.3 km).

ou ha

It really is not that far at all, but it would be harder if you had difficulty walking. You would need to go over the common land to get to the river from what I remember. Harpes is not a short road so the number Claudia/Lorraine lived at would have some bearing I sort of wonder how she possibly got there without any aid if she had difficulty walking. Noted the death is unexplained. It is close but hard to imagine a person who needed a walking aid getting to it although sometimes the state of mind can give extra ability.
