Fairhurst Hall - I wonder if the barn had been converted into accommodation.

Just saw a police update video on Twitter* Louis was last seen in the barn, it is their main focus area, it's complex due to fire and "difficult" contents. Sounds like they're expecting to find him in or near the barn :(

Also an interview clip on Twitter from one of the fireman at the scene (love how he says 'large barn'!) .It took 2-3 hours to get the fire under control and they have been dampening it down overnight. The barn was full of hay and straw and they have not been able to gain access yet and no idea of the cause. He estimates there are 250 tons of debris to search through. Sheesh.

*no idea how to link the vids, but I searched his name and both were posted in the last hour or so. .If someone can link them for old techno-dunce here I'd be much obliged!

URGENT APPEAL: Teen still missing after barn blaze

image.jpg

A spokesperson for Lancashire Fire and Rescue said last night: "There were number of challenging aspects to this incident; the fire involved asbestos and there are concerns that someone may have been in the building at the time the fire started. "Firefighters are still at the scene due to concerns that a missing 14-year-old boy who was last seen in the area before the fire started may be inside the barn."

It's oh so quiet.... sadly I think the police must suspect Louis is in the barn, otherwise there'd be more going on in the media.

Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher's tribute to "cracking footballer and great kid" Louis Simpson

Liverpool FC legend Jamie Carragher has paid tribute to a Meseyside schoolboy killed in a barn fire – calling him a “cracking footballer” and “great kid”.

Louis Simpson’s body was found last night in the wreckage of a barn at Fairhurst Hall in Parbold

He wrote: “Absolutely devastated as a family about the news today about Louis, remember a cracking footballer for the school, holidaying with the family in Ibiza & staying over for his & James’s birthday. “Most of all a great kid. R.I.P son you’ll never be forgotten x”

Louis was friends with Carra's son.

RIP Louis. YNWA

Just found the inquest details for this case, heartbreaking:

A teenage boy died after setting off a firework inside a barn full of bales of hay and becoming trapped inside a blazing inferno. An inquest into the popular youngster’s death today ruled that the boys were playing inside for about an hour, jumping between the bales of hay, before three left and called out to Louis to join them.

Evidence given to police by the boys stated that Louis replied with: “Give us a second, I wanna show you something.”
