Case being researched by UK's Locate International

The woman has been featured in several news articles over the years.

In the early evening of September 10th 1974, a female body was found in a beach hut on Monmouth Beach in the popular seaside town of Lyme Regis.

The deceased woman, believed to be aged between 40 and 50, is described as having fair curly hair with grey or blue eyes. 8 of the woman’s teeth had gold fillings and she was described as having warts around her left knee.

She wore a blue raincoat, paisley blouse, brown trousers and men’s nylon brown socks.

Initial enquiries suggested the woman may have been called Mary after a letter addressed to the name, and signed by ‘N’, was found nearby.

It is believed the woman visited the West End’s Carlton Cinema in London two days before her death after a used cinema ticket was found in her pocket. She is then thought to have travelled from London to Axminster railway station where she may have deposited a blue suitcase at the Left Luggage department, before catching a bus to Lyme Regis. The blue suitcase is said to have contained artist’s paintbrushes amongst other items.
