#UPDATE | We are continuing to appeal for information concerning the whereabouts of Martin Clatworthy who has not been seen since Tuesday 7 March.

Acting Inspector Tony Watts said: “Since Martin was reported missing we continue to pursue all lines of enquiry; we are currently searching mountains, woodland and local waterways led by a specialist police search advisor and continue to liaise closely with Martin’s family.

“We have implemented a thorough trawl of available CCTV in the area Martin was last seen and we are releasing an image of the last known sighting of him, in Blaenrhondda, Rhondda.

“We, and Martin's family, are very concerned for Martin’s welfare and we continue to appeal to anyone who has any information which might help us to find him to come forward urgently.”

Martin Clatworthy, 57, was last seen in the #Blaenrhondda area at 10.55am on 7 March.

He is around 5ft 7” tall with brown eyes and short, dark hair. He was last seen wearing black jeans and a black fleece.

The last sighting of Martin in Blaenrhondda on March 7


Police are searching mountains, woodland and rivers for a missing man as concern grows over his wellbeing.

Martin Clatworthy has been missing for over two weeks having last been seen in the village of Blaenrhondda near Treorchy shortly before 11am on Tuesday, March 7.

South Wales Police officers have trawled through CCTV from the area at the time of Mr Clatworthy's disappearance and have now released an image of the last known sighting of him. In a new appeal, a spokesperson for the force said it was "very concerned" for the missing 57-year-old's welfare.

Members of Central Beacons Mountain Rescue Team had previously been called in to help with the search for Mr Clatworthy during a period of snow and heavy rain. They were also helped by members of the Western Beacons Mountain Rescue Team, but after hours of searching in “challenging conditions”, the search was stood down late on Thursday, March 9.

“We have carried out extensive searches for Martin over the past weeks and these will continue. As part of this ongoing search, I am again urging anybody with information that could us help us find him to contact us immediately.”

The family of a missing man from the Rhondda are "desperate" to know where he is.

Martin Clatworthy, 57, has been missing for more than five weeks.

Police say it's "very concerning" that there has not been any "sign of him".

Mr Clatworthy was last seen in Blaenrhondda, Treorchy, at 10.55am on Tuesday 7 March.

Rivers, hills and mountains are being searched by officers.

He was wearing black jeans and a black fleece when he went missing.
