Officers in Lanarkshire are continuing to appeal for information to trace 69-year-old Patrick Harvey who has been reported missing from the Kilsyth area.

Patrick was last seen about 10pm on Saturday, 2 July, 2022, and is descried as 6ft 1in tall with greying hair and was wearing blue jeans, a black jacket and grey trainers.

Patrick is believed to have travelled by train from Glasgow Central Train Station to Blackpool at around 9.30am on Sunday, 3 July.

Following further enquiries, it is believed that Patrick was in the Bolton area on Wednesday, 13 July.

Sergeant Pamela McFarlane, of Cumbernauld Police Station, said: “Our enquiries are ongoing to trace Patrick. It is out of character for him to be away for so long and his family are growing increasingly concerned for his welfare.

“We have had reported sightings of him in Blackpool but we now believe that he is in the Bolton area.

“Anyone who has information about Patrick’s whereabouts, or who has any information which may assist us, is urged to contact Police Scotland via 101 quoting incident 1051 of 4 July.”

Officers are re-appealing for the assistance of the public for any information on 69-year-old Patrick Harvey from Kilsyth, four weeks on from when he was last seen.

Patrick was last seen in the Kilsyth area around 10pm on Saturday, 2 July. He is described as white, 6ft 1ins in height and of slim build with grey hair. When he was last seen he was wearing blue jeans, a black jacket and grey trainers.

It is extremely out of character for Patrick to go missing and not keep in touch with his family or friends. Officers are keen to ensure that he is safe and well.

Sergeant Gillian Willows of Cumbernauld Police Station said: “From enquiries carried out so far we know that Patrick travelled by train from Glasgow Central to Blackpool around 9.30am on Sunday, 3 July. Around 10.30am on Wednesday, 13 July, he went into a bank on Deansgate in Bolton, Greater Manchester.

“The most recent confirmed sighting of him now is at another bank on King Street in Bridlington, Humberside around 1.45pm on Thursday, 28 July.

“We have released a CCTV image of Patrick in Bridlington to show what he was wearing in the hope that someone may recognise him or know where he travelled on to. Perhaps someone spoke to him that day?

“We are continuing to liaise with our police colleagues in Lancashire, Greater Manchester and Humberside who are assisting with this enquiry.

“If anyone has seen Patrick or has any information that will help locate him, please get in touch. Indeed, we would urge Patrick himself to contact police or his family to let them know he is safe. Any detail, no matter how small it may seem, could prove useful in our ongoing efforts to locate him. Anyone with information should contact 101 with reference 1051 of 4 July.”
