UK - Prince Andrew accused of underage sexual relationship, 1999-2002 *settled* #2

With all these denials and lies, which can easily be proven to be lies, how is anyone going to take him seriously if happens tells the truth about anything ? He is setting himself up. No one will ever believe a word he says.

The thing that's bothering me is how the media and others report he will offer a settlement to avoid disgracing the queen’s special year of celebrations and saving face for royalty. This seems like such backwards thinking and makes them all seem complicit to what has occurred to just sweep it all under the rug. It keeps the cycle of abuse going imo for this powerful family/institution to not want to hold him fully accountable for his actions. That’s why I hope VG does not settle and sees it all the way through. Money will not solve this imo.

I think money IS the solution to civil cases.

Most are settled out of court, monetarily with no admission of guilt.

That’s my understanding/experience of civil suits.

Yes, what I mean is I hope VG does not settle out of court just for the sake of getting money and no admission/verdict of guilt. OTOH, there may be no verdict of guilt if it proceeds to a jury.

Paying is a verdict of guilt.

I would never pay a cent if I were innocent.
Never.

The way much of the media is presenting the lawsuit is predicting he will just pay so as not to interfere with the Queen’s Jubilee. This seems to minimize the alleged damage caused by his actions of having sex with her when she was a trafficked minor and puts the focus on the royal family instead of back on him. Seeing it proceed all the way to trial, and with a jury to boot, will be a fair solution imo.

I believe that he had sex with VRG. My belief is that he should have just admitted it, but denied knowing her age or that she had been sex trafficked.

I don't think that he knew VRG was a victim of sex trafficking, he may have not even known VRG was underage.

But, that is not a defense.

It may not be an excuse but it may well be the reason for his stance.

In England, she was of legal age, so not a crime.

He has not been charged criminally, so it IS all about a settlement and he likely won’t admit guilt. It’s not a crime in England, she was of age.

Of course they’re going to protect the Monarchy, no other Queen has reigned as long as Queen Elizabeth.

This jubilee is of great historical importance to the English.

The Monarchy must be protected at all costs, that’s why she ‘cut him loose’, made him a private citizen.

Andrew is her favourite child, it must be breaking her heart but life will go on.

There are 3 alleged times, only one of which was in England.

Non-consensual sex and sex trafficking are real crimes, even in England.

PA has claimed to have knowledge of issues surrounding child abuse, quite specifically, and leading to uncontrollable blinking. (NSPCC = National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children.)

The Crown will survive this as the media spin is 'poor queenie'.
I don't feel sorry for anyone in RF, dysfunctional families produce dysfunctional adults.
Pushing ahead with jubilee which will inevitably overshadow PA is obscene and no amount of 'distancing' or 'cutting PA out' will make an iota of difference except to seemingly 'pacify' the masses and make them think he has been ousted - we know he hasn't - it's all smoke and mirrors.
The jubilee and RF isn't as important to most Brits as a lot of people outside UK think, we're not all flag waving Royalists here.

He's inarticulate.
Not very bright - Arrogance and entitlement has got him where he is today.
Thank goodness for those brave women who have come forward.

So is he saying the prosecution have to prove he met her and prove the sex took place and if they can prove that then VG consented anyway?

JE imprisoned, GM imprisoned, and VG was a willing party eh?

'Now in his answer to the court, he is still denying [ever meeting or having sexual contact with Ms Giuffre], but unbelievably says if the acts occurred, they were consensual,' he said.

What does the fluttering blinking indicate?

Sometimes these people get involved with certain agencies just to create the appearance of someone they are not. I could see him seeking out a patronage with a society like that just so he could maintain a cleaner image imo. He couldn’t even describe the purpose of the NSPCC in a clear manner. I don’t trust a word that comes out the side of his mouth.

So I was close up with what was going on in those, um, time when getting rid of those abuse to children, so I knew what were the things to look for, but I never saw them.”
