Arrogance is intolerable :(

But...

It always works out Its own ruin :)

But Maxwell has had her trial and Epstein is dead...they have only ever said they wanted to speak to him as a witness

AFAIK the FBI investigation is still active and according to most reports 'A' has not yet spoken to them.

Not sorry, but I'm not using the 'P' with 'A' or PA - I can't show any deference to that man!

Queens money, The Andrew formally known as Prince's money, all their money is made off the back of us and our ancestors.
All royal families, throughout history, were just warlords who pillaged, confiscated land, and got richer through taxation.

Duke of York seems to contradict what he told me, says Emily Maitlis

The Duke of York's 2019 interview with Emily Maitlis was widely described as both disastrous and a “car crash”

Emily Maitlis has suggested that the Duke of York's statement within his out-of-court settlement with Virginia Giuffre contradicts answers he gave in their Newsnight interview.

Maitlis, writing for the BBC website on Wednesday night, described how Prince Andrew told her prior to the interview he "wanted to get across his innocence".

Maitlis asked: "At the heart of the settlement is the biggest question of all: why is a prince who told me he had 'no recollection of ever meeting this lady' now paying her what we understand to be upwards of £10 million?"

Maitlis put forward three possibilities for the apparent contradiction between his strenuous denial in the interview and the multimillion-pound payment.

"Either he was lying," she wrote. "Or he genuinely had no recollection - and was adamant they hadn't met - only for his memory subsequently to be jogged. Or that he maintains his innocence, but feels the weight of legal and public opinion makes settling the easier option, albeit without accepting any liability. It is not my place to decree which is true".

"Prince Andrew has been dealt another humiliating blow after the city of York said it planned to revoke his honorary freedom of the city after the settlement of a sexual abuse civil case in the US."
“York’s unique connection to the crown and the monarch is an important part of our city’s legacy and history. However, as a council and city, we stand with victims of sexual abuse and are doing all we can to end violence against woman and girls locally.

“As such, it is inappropriate that Prince Andrew retains his ambassadorial title that is intrinsically linked to our city. The allegations and his associations with convicted abusers are incredibly serious and we are determined to explore all options available to ensure that his links to our city are severed.

“I hope councillors across all parties will support the motion to remove Prince Andrew’s honorary freedom of the city of York. Buckingham Palace and the government must then act to remove his Duke of York title. We will be reaching out to MPs to raise our concerns and discuss any possible ways of ending Prince Andrew’s connection to York.”

<RSBM> It’s so ridiculous that the RF thinks they can buy their way out of this situation by throwing cash someone’s way and gagging VG from speaking out about it because it will “ruin” the queen’s celebrity.

I personally think that this is a little bit about the Queen's Jubilee and a lot about avoiding a sworn deposition.
10th March is only 3 weeks away. Uncanny timing.

He will face a deposition, which means giving evidence to lawyers for use in court.
A date has been set for 10 March in London.

to be fair VG was insistent she wasnt going to settle out of court and wanted her day in court and for him to admit what he had done and yet did pretty quickly in the end. She also had to give a deposition plus her husband and her ex. I dont think either parties actually wanted to do that deposition to be honest. I also think there could be other reasons why he settled which if i am right would come out in due course I guess :(

I guess what I am thinking is that VG had nothing to fear from a deposition. And maybe PA does. His words recorded and attested to, by him. Hard legal copy. If more was to come out in the future (which it likely won't now) it could mean making any lawyer's job very hard. Probably best (for him) to just avoid it.

Has any other royal been required to give a sworn deposition in the past?

Depositions arent really a British thing to be honest. I actually think the depositions could have caused issues for both of them not least the ones by Carolynn but...i do think it was best for him to settle in one way but I wish he had stuck it out to be honest.

I aso think so.
Talk about Jubilee is just a smokescreen to save his face.

Interrogation under oath would be the end of him.

Virginia could have refused to settle...then he would have had to have gone there and completed it just like the rest of them would have ..its ok saying he didnt want it but it took two to close the deal and rightly or wrongly she still hasnt got him to admit anything.

If the US pursue PA, I think a sworn deposition would be valid there also.

I think this is THE END of this drama.
VG got what she wanted:
- his total humiliation
- his apology
- vast sum of Compensation money
- publicity and money for her Charity.

FBI?
How many years have they been asking him to testify?
