Thames Valley Police is re-appealing for the public’s help in locating a missing man from Grove Hill, Chalfont St Peter, Buckinghamshire.

Roy Morris, aged 60, was last seen leaving his address at around 6.45pm on Sunday (26/5).

Roy is described as a white man, around 6ft tall with a slim build.

He has a shaved head, is clean shaven and has green/brown eyes.

He was last seen wearing camo shorts and a black t-shirt.

He is not believed to have any access to money, his phone or medication.

Roy is known to frequent the River Misbourne walk, White Hart Pub, Chalfont, The Plough at Casden and local rural/woodland areas.

Investigating officer, Inspector Gemma Price, based at Amersham police station, said: “We are continuing to conduct enquiries into the whereabouts of Roy and there may be an increased police presence as searches are ongoing.

“We are also continuing to appeal for the public’s help in locating him. I would particularly like to ask local residents to check any gardens, sheds or garages.

“If anyone believes they may have seen Roy, or someone matching his description, please contact police as soon as possible.”

Anyone with information about Roy’s whereabouts should call 101, quoting URN 1114 (26/5).

His anxious family have ramped up the search for Roy by launching a Facebook page to raise awareness.

Police helicopter crews have also joined the search, with NPAS based at Benson, Oxfordshire, saying the team had been up 'a couple of times' already.

They added: "If you see him, please say hello and let him know his daughter Ruby and partner Janice are looking for him, and call 999 and quote police ref number 1114-26/05/19.

"Please stay with him until Janice or the police arrive. Do not let him leave you.

"He is likely to be in a distressed state, but might engage in conversation if you ask about his daughter's graduation this month."

Oh dear. Hopefully this gentleman is found safe soon. It's not nice thinking about him being in a distressed state :( I hope he's home soon to see his daughter graduate. Thoughts are with his family.

Not much to go on here... why did he walk out? Was this a normal walk? Was he angry? Was he sad? Does he have any mental illness? Why doesn't he have access to money - he didn't take a wallet?

CCTV footage of the last known movements of a vulnerable missing man have been released in a bid to help find him.

Thames Valley Police is releasing CCTV footage as the search for missing man Roy Morris continues.

Roy, aged 60, has been missing since 26 May, and was last seen leaving his address in Grove Hill, Chalfont St Peter, at around 6.45pm.

Roy is white, slim, around 6ft tall, with a shaved head and green/brown eyes.

He was last seen wearing camouflage shorts and a black t-shirt.

He is not believed to have any access to money, his phone or medication.

Roy is said to have a distinctive walk with his head thrust forward.

Investigating officers are now releasing new CCTV footage of Roy in Chalfont St Peter and Gerrards Cross on 26 May.

Our search has been widened to include areas of the Chalfonts, Hedgerley, Seer Green and the A40 towards Beaconsfield.

The footage, timed at approximately 6.50pm, shows Roy walking from his home in Grove Hill and then on to Lovell Road.

He is then seen walking on Nicol Road in the direction of Gold Hill East.

At the junction of Nicol Road and Gold Hill East, he is seen heading towards Austenwood Lane.

It is believed he then walked down Priory Road before taking a footpath in the direction of Gerrards Cross Bowling Club.

He is then known to have walked down Bull Lane to the junction with the A40 Oxford Road, where he turned right in the direction away from Gerrards Cross. A moving image of Roy was picked up by a Thames Valley Police roads policing unit on the A40 at around 7.25pm.

The last known image of Roy was then captured just prior to the turning for Mumfords Lane at around 7.36pm.

Roy is known to frequent the River Misbourne walk, White Hart Pub, Chalfont, The Plough at Cadsden, Gerrards Cross, and local rural/woodland areas.

Superintendent Amy Clements, the Local Policing Area Commander for Chiltern & South Bucks, said: “Officers have been conducting widespread and thorough searches for Roy since he was reported missing.

“He has now not been seen for almost three weeks, and his family and friends are naturally extremely concerned for his welfare.

“We are releasing these CCTV images and footage of Roy’s last known movements in the hope that they may jog someone’s memory that can help in our investigation to find him.

“Roy’s disappearance is out of character, and we are continuing to investigate the circumstances behind him going missing on 26 May.

“As well as releasing these images, I am also making a direct appeal to Roy.

“Roy, you are not in any trouble whatsoever, but we, your family and your friends, are very concerned for your welfare.

“Please make contact with police, or your family. We just want to know that you are safe. If you have any worries or concerns, we and your family are here to support you and help you.

“If anyone has any information that can help us to local Roy, please call 101, quoting the URN 1114 (26/5), or in an emergency, dial 999.”

The cctv footage is worrying as the poor man wasnt dressed very warmly. We've had the same deluge of rain locally as the rest of the uk. Sadly, the most obvious outcome looks to be that he has come to harm.

Thames Valley Police located the body of a man yesterday (30/6) in woodland near to the A40 in Gerrards Cross in the ongoing search for Roy Morris, who had been reported missing from his home in Chalfont St Peter on 26 May.

Although formal identification has not yet taken place, the body is believed to be that of Mr Morris and his next of kin have been notified and are being supported by officers at this time.

The death is being treated as unexplained, but not suspicious.

Detective Sergeant Simon Reid, based at Amersham police station, said: “Our officers along with colleagues from the Lowland Search & Rescue, have been conducting searches for Mr Morris for several weeks since he was reported missing.

“Sadly, that search has discovered the body of a man yesterday afternoon, which is believed to be Mr Morris.

“Officers from Thames Valley Police are with Mr Morris’s family and our thoughts are with them at this difficult time.”

A statement on the page ‘Find Roy Morris’ set up by the family of Mr Morris said: “We are very sorry to have to let you all know that Roy has been found, but it isn’t the outcome we were all hoping for.

"Roy was found today in some woodland in the local area, but he has sadly passed away.
