Found Deceased UK - Samantha Eastwood, 28, Stoke-on-Trent, 27 July 2018 *Arrest*

  • #121
Last seen leaving night shift from the hospital 07.45 am Friday as the CCTV, but the scream heard around 2 pm same day AFAIK.

This is wrong then?

Samantha has been missing since Friday night. The alarm was raised at 7.20pm by concerned colleagues and she was last seen in the Stockton Brook area at 7.45pm.

Missing midwife may have 'links to Whitby'

Yeah the purse is missing but bank cards were still in the house. On the other hand the Police haven't said one way or the other if her phone is missing or still working.

I also wonder if her uniform was in the house or not?

Yes, the police are being very cautious revealing any info re Samantha's phone.
Me, single female, cash and personal stuff in my purse, all cards bank etc. in a separate wallet, best to take phone if I'm driving anywhere in case of emergency.
Trying to put myself into Samantha's shoes in normal circumstances.
Where is her phone?

Yes, "last seen in Stockton Brook area at 7.45pm" seems incorrect in that article? Maybe Samantha's car was picked up on CCTV somewhere in Stockton Brook area near her home at 7.45am or a bit later as she went home? Not sure.

When I heard of the arrest for kidnapping, I must admit that I did think of the Gaia Pope case where police seemed to get things very wrong. But they are damned if they do escalate things and then damned if they don't. But the red flags for me at the moment are pointing far more strongly to foul play in Samantha's case, whereas Gaia's state of mental health was much more of a concern for me. As far as we know there weren't any indications of acute mental health problems with Samantha, although as we all know sometimes some people can hide this very well.

The first thing most nurses do on reaching home is to immediately take off the uniform, throw it in the washing machine and have a bath or shower. You're usually hungry, thirsty and tired as well. I knew some colleagues who would be able to stay awake as maybe they had to look after children or relatives but if you were back on night duty again, as Samantha was scheduled to be, you would know you had to get some sleep. Early afternoon, 1 pm or 2ish would have been about the time I would have surfaced.
Interesting about the Radley purse. I wonder if they can tell from the house if she got dressed again in civvies to maybe just take her purse and run a local errand? But if she left the house voluntarily she would surely take her keys, unless she kept a door key in the purse? And as others have said, where's her phone?
Clearly a lot was going on in her personal life so that could cause a lot of stress, but I just don't see her causing all this worry to family and abandoning her work which is her vocation. I think the police are right to question everything and everyone very hard here.

I haven't seen any mention of house keys, only the conflicting versions concerning the car key. She may not have had them on the same ring.

I’ve only just seen all this and read up on it all. One question I haven’t seen asked or answered is, was there an evident struggle inside her home? Or like Claudia Lawrence was there nothing noticeable? How about things such as made or unmade bed to suggest she made it to bed?

I understand there is confusion to the keys being left in the home or the car?

In regards to the scream I’m with the majority, I wouldn’t have bat an eyelid at a solitary scream that could have come from any house.

How Does A Much-Loved Midwife Disappear Without A Trace?

Bit of a round up in Huffpost

Re the purse: there's a cpl of possibilities? The purse is gone and the bank cards are not. Were the bank cards emptied out? Or did she keep them in a separate purse anyway? Were the bank cards scattered around or secreted away?

Just wondering what forensics may have been done. If police attended soon after she was reported missing there doesn't seem to me much time for an extensive 'clean up' if required.

Edit to say I hope she is safe and well, this is unimaginably awful for her family :(

Sounds like they definitely have reason to suspect he is involved. This is horrible.

Just caught up with all the posts.

Looking at SEs house on google, I would say no one is going to walk to that property ( unless they live very close ).
So either SE moved her car back to allow an expected visitor to park on her drive ( makes sense, its not the widest avenue and located just before a junction ) or the visitor moved SEs car back to allow themselves to park their own car close to the side door.
On balance, I would say SE did not leave the house in her own car.

Elainera, I can't link at the mo, but the article is in the daily mail...not clear whether it's a grandmother or mother....DM says the home belongs to MSs mother...she is in a care home.
