A witness saw Couzens, an off-duty Met Police constable, cuff and arrest Ms Everard, and images of them standing together were caught on security cameras on two buses, a refuse lorry and a marked police car.

The details coming out in court are making me feel physically ill. People speculated that WC used his warrant card and my mind wouldn’t let me accept that horrific level of deceit and betrayal of trust — but they were right.

Even with his guilty plea, he must get a whole life sentence. The evidence was overwhelming, it is clear. They had video of him with her, which I hadn’t even appreciated but makes sense in London. I personally see his guilty plea as an attempt to avoid the whole life sentence and in attempt to not have his cowardice exposed in a full trial.

Please let him never be released. I don’t want him to ever see daylight again even as an old man.

The court hears that fragments of Ms Everard's clothing were found in the area where her body was burnt in woodland in Kent.

At 8pm on the evening he abducted Ms Everard, Wayne Couzens went to Tesco in Kensington and bought a pack of 14 hair bands, the court hears.

On Poynders Road (A205) – the kidnap happened.

As Sarah Everard made her way along Cavendish Road and Poynders Road, her killer had been driving through Clapham Common, emerging from The Avenue, onto Cavendish Road and Poynders Road, travelling in the same direction as her.

Footage shown to the court show Sarah Everard standing on the pavement, behind the car, facing Couzens, a few feet apart.

Mr Little said: "In the final sequence of footage, the defendant appears to touch his belt and to be holding up his hand towards Sarah Everard, as if showing her something in it."

I have an overwhelming sense of sadness for his daughter especially, she’s at an age where she understands things and will probably try to find out the stuff that’s being kept from her.
Imagine being that age and finding out your dad who you thought was a policeman and “hero” and whom tucked you in bed at night was actually such a horrific monster.

This is exactly where I am. I couldn’t fathom the idea that someone could be so deprived as to have planned this. I think it is self-preservation/human nature to want to expect the least horrific explanation. As otherwise one has to confront the fact that one is just not safe from a determined individual who can overpower you.

She was just walking home. Something I have done so many times that it rocks me to my core that it could easily have been me popping out for milk in the same area. I just couldn’t confront the awfulness of the suggestion that I would have been just as a powerless as she was.

Still trying to rationalise what one does with all this info as a woman who doesn’t want to live under a self-imposed curfew.

The man was wearing dark clothing. She started to watch more closely when she saw a handcuff. The woman on the pavement already had her left arm behind her back, and was in the process of "giving her other arm behind her back" as Couzens placed the handcuff on her right arm.

The Crown told the court that Sarah Everard was compliant, with her head down and did not appear to be arguing. The defendant appeared to be confident.

Poor woman who was a witness to this. I cannot imagine what she must be going through now given what came to light subsequently.

Former Met Police officer Wayne Couzens 'handcuffed' and 'arrested' murder victim Sarah Everard before she was kidnapped, raped and killed, a court heard.

Prosecutor Tom Little QC told the court on Wednesday (September 29) that Wayne Couzens snatched Sarah Everard in a “false arrest”.

According to the prosecutor Couzens was able to carry out the kidnapp by “handcuffing her and showing his warrant card”.

Sarah Everard's murderer Wayne Couzens threw her phone into a nearby flood relief basin just hours after killing her.

Fragments of the phone's SIM card were also discovered in Couzens' car where he had destroyed the chip.

Court is taking a brief recess until 11.45am.

Oh my lord. Can you imagine being that woman? I can’t fathom the level of guilt I would have. Even knowing there was nothing she could have done, just knowing what happened would be enough to drive me insane.

Eyewitness saw Sarah Everard being kidnapped by Wayne Couzens, court hears

A couple travelling in a car witnessed the kidnap of Sarah Everard, the court hears.

The female passenger in the vehicle saw a man and woman standing on the pavement and watched as the woman was handcuffed, prosecutor Tom Little tells the court.

"Sarah Everard was compliant, with her head down and did not appear to be arguing," he adds.

Mr Little says the female passenger believed she was witnessing an undercover police officer arresting a woman whom she assumed "must have done something wrong".

She remarked to her husband that she seen "a woman being handcuffed", the court hears.

"They were in fact witnessing the kidnapping of Sarah Everard," Mr Little says.

"She was detained by fraud. The defendant using his warrant card and handcuffs as well as his other police issue equipment to effect a false arrest.

"Having handcuffed her to the rear she would not have been able to undo the seatbelt that the defendant must have placed over her.

"That was the start of her lengthy ordeal including an 80 mile journey whilst detained which was to lead first to her rape and then her murder."

Crikey it never occurred to me that he actually arrested her. That is terrifying. Bet the Met aren't keen on that being made public, it really questions their vetting and people management processes.
