The West Midlands ambulance service said they were called to reports of a medical emergency at the property at 9.21am.

Assume he was the parent? Wonder if anyone else involved?

Perhaps it was something like carbon monoxide poisoning.

I live in Kidderminster and I'm also 39. This is a very suburban residential area. Local news/groups haven't said much as yet - such a tragedy.
I don't know much about carbon monoxide; if it's s semi detached house would just one be affected?

The force said a 39-year-old man and a three-year-old child were found dead on arrival.

The deaths are currently being treated as unexplained, police said.

The 39-year-old man was a serving officer with West Mercia Police.

I would think so.

I agree, The upstairs windows are all open. I’d imagine that if it was a crime scene etc they would close them to preserve evidence.

Yes it's an odd one, keep checking back to see whether there's been updates...

I have seen no formal updates other than 'unexplained' ... Plenty of SM suggestion that it was a CM leak, but IMO if that was so, I think it would have been stated already.

Maybe they are awaiting toxicology reports before releasing anything further?

I thought this too. But then I also think if there was potentially anything suspicious around the deaths the family wouldn't be releasing tributes via the police.

ETA: I should clarify, when I say suspicious I'm referring to any possibility that the father was responsible, rather than 3rd party involvement.

If it's not CM poisoning and there is no third party involved are we looking at a potential murder suicide? I sincerely hope not.

Ngl this was my initial assumption, I don't think it can be though bc the family and police have made supportive statements.
