The Bedford woman who hasn't been seen since Boxing Day 9 years ago

Sonica Hans, then aged 35, was last seen on Boxing Day in 2012 walking through Bedford town centre, past the Swan Hotel and along the Embankment.

This is interesting as Ruskuls targeted and murdered an Indian lady in 2016 when he grabbed the lady on her way to work. He had a string of criminal convictions in his home country. I wonder if he was ever homeless in Bedford area and had previously targeted Indian women as his Modus Operandi.

Sonica Hans, then aged 35, was last seen on 26 December 2012, walking through Bedford town centre past the Swan Hotel and along the Embankment.

Bedfordshire Police has carried out extensive inquiries and searches, including police divers searching the river Great Ouse between Prebend Street and the Slipe Bridge but no trace of her has ever been found.

"On the 10th anniversary of Sonica's disappearance, her family has decided to issue a heartfelt statement that will strike a chord with many people here in Bedfordshire and in the hope that someone who knows something will come forward.”

Ms Hans, who is about 5ft 3ins (1.6m) tall, has long black hair which was dyed dark brown.

She was last seen wearing red trousers or leggings, a thigh-length black jumper and a dark blue jacket.

I only found out about this missing person this morning

I searched for a family/a man with this surname HANS in Germany for private reasons years ago and couldn't find someone except one prime minister (who answered, that he didn't know the family).

I did not know this until today, looked it up:
Hans is a Punjabi surname used by the Aroracaste in India. It originates from the Sanskrit hams, meaning swan or goose.[1] It is also a Jat clan.[2]The name can also be found amongst the Bhangi(Chuhra) and Mirasi castes.

I agree. Four days before she vanished she changes her picture to a black circle, almost as though she is erasing herself from her profile or trying to disappear. I wonder what her mental health was like at the time. I’m not sure if she would’ve celebrated Christmas but I know that time of year generally can make people feel very overwhelmed and isolated.

I can’t find any new media updates and what is out there is unfortunately very little. It’s so sad.
