Sydney Piper, 69, was last seen entering Lloyds Park in Walthamstow, through the Forest Road entrance, at 11.50am on Thursday February 23.

Scotland Yard said his disappearance is out of character and officers have become increasingly concerned for his welfare.

He is not believed to be in possession of any money or Oyster cards so police believe he may be living outside through snowy weather in the past week.

Detective Inspector Seb Florent, from the missing person unit in north-east London, said: “More than two weeks since Sydney has been spotted, we are increasingly worried about his wellbeing. With no money or Oyster card, we believe he is unlikely to have been able to travel far..."

Police searching for a missing man from Walthamstow are appealing for people in the area to check any sheds, outbuildings or overgrown gardens.

Sydney Piper, aged 69, was last seen entering Lloyds Park in Walthamstow, through the Forest Road entrance, at approximately 11:50hrs on Thursday, 23 February.

His disappearance is out of character and officers have become increasingly concerned for his welfare. He is not believed to be in possession of any money and therefore they believe he may be living outside.

Sydney is described as 5ft 7ins tall, of slim build, with a grey beard and black short hair. He was last seen wearing a long black coat, grey T-shirt, grey trousers and black slippers.

He has a distinctive way of walking, with his feet splayed outwards, which people may have noticed.

Police are appealing for help to find a 69-year-old man from Waltham Forest who went missing more than two weeks ago.

Police are renewing an appeal to find a missing man from Walthamstow who was last seen more than a month ago.

Sydney Piper, 69, was last seen in Chingford Road at 12.10pm on February 23.

He was heading north in the direction of the Crooked Billet Roundabout.

He is not believed to be in possession of any money and they believe he may be living outside.

Sydney is described as 5ft 1ins tall, of slim build, with a grey beard and black short hair.

He was last seen wearing a mid-length black coat, grey T-shirt, grey trousers and black slippers.

Detectives said he has a distinctive way of walking, with his feet splayed outwards, which people may have noticed.

It has been established that, in the past, Sydney has enjoyed walking in Epping Forest and enjoyed taking himself away for the day walking in the forest and parkland areas.

Police are appealing in particular for visitors to Epping Forest to come forward with any sightings of him.
