Cops 'extremely concerned' for a pensioner who vanished from his home are urging residents to scour their gardens for the missing man.
Vulnerable Thomas Beattie, known as Ted, has been missing since he left his Stafford home on Wednesday (October 6).
Officers continuing their search for the 89-year-old believe he could be taking shelter in a garden or shed and are pleading for residents to check their homes.
Anyone who spots the pensioner - who may be walking slowly - should immediately dial 999, Staffordshire Police said.
Inspector Laura Morrey, deputy commander at Stafford neighbourhood policing team, said: "We are extremely concerned regarding the welfare of 89-year-old Thomas Beattie.
"Thomas, who is known as Ted, can become confused, suffers with poor eyesight and can be unsteady on his feet.
"He went missing overnight on Wednesday October 6 into Thursday October 7."
