A WOMAN was killed and two men are fighting for their lives after a hit-and-run driver smashed into a bus stop yesterday just minutes after a separate crash.

The victim, named locally as Vanessa Chango, was on her way to work when the car left the road and mowed her down.

The carnage began when an Audi and a VW Golf collided at around 5.20am. Two plain clothes police officers arrived at the scene, but the driver of the Audi escaped in the vehicle, leaving the injured motorist behind.

Just ten minutes later, the Audi ploughed into Vanessa and a man standing next to her. The driver abandoned the car and fled the scene on foot............more at link.....

Veronica Vanessa Chango-Alverez, 31, died and a man was injured when the Audi driven by Nathan Davies struck them on 22 December in Croydon.

Davies, 28, was sentenced at Inner London Crown Court to five years and four months for causing death by dangerous driving.
