Fears grow for missing psychotherapist, 49, recommended
by lifestyle website Goop after she vanishes on Exmoor

Fears are growing for a psychotherapist who vanished on Exmoor more than a month ago.

Vanessa Hodge, 49, was last seen leaving her home in the small market town of Dulverton by a neighbour on May 29.

Her car, a beige Fiat panda, was found by police parked in a hotel car park near the sea in Porlock, Somerset, five days later. It had a parking ticket on it dated May 30.

'She is an incredibly kind and sensitive person,' one friend told The Sunday Times. 'I really hope there's some good news soon.'

She set up a wellness retreat in the southwest of England about a year ago after previously running a private practice in Marylebone.

She is not believed to have any children and it is unclear if she had a partner.

Hodge is between 5ft 9in and 5ft 10ins tall, according to Avon and Somerset Police.

Hodge is believed to have moved to southwest England about a year ago to set up a wellness retreat.

She also ran a private practice in London that offered yoga and alternative medicine remedies and was recommended on the “Iron Man” actress’ (Gwyneth Paltrow) website.

The trained psychotherapist previously ran a photography production company in New York that counted actress Salma Hayek and models Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell as clients.

Body found on beach in missing woman search

The remains were found by a kayaker on the shoreline in Samson's Bay, near Ilfracombe, Devon on Tuesday, Avon and Somerset Police said.

A force spokesman said the body had not yet been formally identified but Ms Hodge's family had been informed.

Wonder what the distance is between where her car was and where she was located? And, can't help but wonder what happened to her.

About 27 miles from where car found to where body found. Anyone know about the currents there? So if she fell or jumped into Bristol Channel? Note 27 miles would average about a mile a day for the month she was missing. Tides would pull her both toward and away from the sea.
