Coastguards join search

The coastguard has joined the search for an Aberdeen woman who was last seen walking near the River Dee on Sunday.

Victoria McGloin was last seen in the Hardgate area of the city at around 4pm.

Detectives believe the 46-year-old walked south towards the steps leading to Deeside Way.

At the time of her disappearance, she was wearing a black raincoat, a brown t-shirt with white writing, a purple hooded jumper, blue jeans and blue walking boots.

Victoria is described as 5ft 2in, of medium build, with red/brown shoulder-length hair and wears glasses.

The coastguard was searching the River Dee in connection with the disappearance.

Chief inspector Vicky Stables said: “We continue to be concerned for Victoria’s wellbeing and are keen to speak to anyone who may have seen her or knows where she might be.

“We are asking people to check business premises, gardens, huts, garages and outhouses in case Victoria has taken shelter. Please also check any private CCTV or dash-cam that you might have, in case you have captured something that could help us.

“If you are walking or cycling on Deeside Way and see someone matching Victoria’s description, then please get in touch.”

Those with information have been urged to call Police Scotland on 101, quoting reference 2667 of Sunday, October 19, 2025.

I can’t find an official confirmation, but judging by social media posts, it looks like people have accepted it’s her. So sad, she looks like someone who had such a full life. I wonder what she had in her hand in the cctv. Did she leave it somewhere for someone?
