Miller appears to have had access to many firearms (although he was reportedly ineligible to possess them)!

I'm just glad that these three victims will hopefully see justice -- unlike Kylen Schulte and Crystal Turner, murdered in Moab in August 2021.

Here, the suspect (Adam Pinkusiewicz) quietly left town before he could be questioned, and reportedly died by suicide in an Iowa motel on Sept. 24, 2021, and investigators did not learn he was dead until late March 2022, officials said.

Listen up -- Iowans, (or anybody else) with murder on their mind, are not welcome in Utah!

Agree with everything you said, especially your last line. I have a feeling this guy has done this before.

An otherwise normal person doesn’t wreck their car, get stranded, and decide murder is their way out.

He was inconvenienced, angry, low on cash. Instead of reaching out to anyone, making connections in the community, or legitimately trying anything - he thought this route would be easier.

He didn’t just steal. He stalked an elderly victim, waited until she was comfortable in her home with her guard down, and shot her. After he murdered her, he took off in her car to continue on his trip as planned. Like the murder was just a pit stop along the way and her life meant nothing.

He decided that the victim’s car wasn’t good enough to his standards, and again, feels inconvenienced. The moment he spots two other women in what he believed to be a nicer car, he again decided not just to steal - but to murder.

This person seems to have a serious issue with functioning in society. It seems like he takes his perceived inconveniences out on anyone nearby and feels no remorse about it. It would not surprise me at all if he has done something similar before, his behavior didn’t just escalate into this overnight.

JMO
also, he seems to have admitted it all, matter-of-factly, like it was no big deal

Just terrifying to know people like this exist

rereading it all, I think we just have a shockingly clear example of a sociopath.

instead of freaking out after the first murder, he murdered again almost immediately. and then the shrugging and admitting it all. and being arrested without incident.

one wonders how someone who thinks like this made it to age 22 without being dead, locked up, or institutionalized. but maybe wrecking his truck and getting stranded out of state was unusually stressful for him, and pushed him over the miniscule threshold he had.

MOO

Update: Names of 3 women killed in Wayne County released

Out of money after staying in a hotel, prosecutors allege, Miller headed to the tiny nearby town of Lyman, fatally shot Margaret Oldroyd, 86, in her home Wednesday and took her Buick Regal.

[..]

Then, because “he did not like the car and wanted to find a different vehicle,” charges against him allege, Miller drove about 15 miles to the C-o-c-k-s Comb Trailhead and shot Linda Dewey, 65, and her niece Natalie Graves, 34, after they got out of a white Subaru Outback. He allegedly told authorities he stabbed the older woman when she continued to move.

[..]

Miller had left Iowa with his truck about two and a half weeks ago on a solo cross-country road trip, according to a brother who spoke to The New York Times on the condition that he not be identified by name.

The brother told The Times that they had grown up Amish and that Miller had serious mental health issues, but the brother said he had no idea Miller could be suspected of such violence.

didn't see the Amish part coming

Neither did I! Wow. There are some Amish communities in the Blakesburg/Bloomfield/Ottumwa area of southern Iowa, and under the surface, they're no different from "us."

The last quote made me smirk. Hey Van Zandt. Your client has already confessed everything. He is going down. MOO

public defender Scott Van Zandt, said Miller would resist efforts to be moved to Utah.

'We will not be waiving extradition here and we will be fighting this every step of the way,' Van Zandt said.

Van Zandt also told the judge that Miller 'does not wish to speak to law enforcement or to the press.'
