Momo was shot to death in her kitchen, Jeff, was injured from shrapnel of shotgun blasts but survived. Mary Lee (who died in this car accident) was Jeff’s ex wife and mother of the child Momo and Jeff had just gotten full custody of right before the murder. Mary Lee was unstable and had tried her best to make Momo’s life hell. She and another ex of Jeff’s had been initial suspects in the murder but no charges were ever filed. Very, very weird.

Somewhat off-topic, but my god, I feel for that poor child. The sudden and violent losses of not one, but two, mother figures in such a short time must be devastating.

As of Monday, police have not made an arrest related to the shooting and are still looking for a possible motive. But Sandy Police Sgt. Greg Moffitt says the investigation has never turned into a "cold case."

"This is still a case that we're working — we have been since day one," he said.

Reward offered in 2019 Sandy murder investigation

A $21,000 reward is being offered by an anonymous group for information about a woman who was fatally shot in her Sandy home in 2019. Her husband was also shot but survived.
