"Johnny Dale Rollins, 63, was last seen March 27 when he left his home around 4 p.m. to go for a walk, according to a family member.
Cedar City Police Sgt. Jerry Womack said that multiple searches, including a multi-agency search earlier this month, have yielded no clues to his fate. Womack hopes new leads may be found as more people head outdoors visiting area trails and parks. Until a new lead is uncovered, no further searches are planned.
Rollins is known for heading out on his own to walk the area, Womack said, including an attempt several months ago to walk to St. George. Family members told police Rollins does not carry a cell phone and has suffered from health problems which may make him more vulnerable when exposed to harsh weather conditions and the rugged terrain of Southern Utah.
Rollins is white, with blue eyes and gray hair. He was last seen wearing a black jacket, dark pants and brown boots. Rollins stand 5 feet 6 inches and weighs about 170 pounds. Anyone who believes they have information regarding Rollins whereabouts should contact Cedar City Police at 435-586-2955."

Cedar City remains confirmed to be Johnny Dale Rollins:

The skeletal remains were sent to the medical examiner’s office, Cedar City police said, and dental records confirmed the deceased person was 63-year-old Johnny Dale Rollins. A wallet found on the body confirmed the identification.

Police say Rollins was reporting missing after he left his home for a walk in March 2018. When he was reported missing, family members told police that Rollins has health issues related to a previous stroke, as well as early stages of Alzheimer’s.
