RIVERDALE, Utah (KUTV) — A missing 28-year-old woman believed to have fallen into the Weber River has been identified by family members.

The woman who fell into the Weber River on Monday was identified as 28-year-old Libby Stimpson, according to her family.

According to Deputy David Reed with Weber Fire, the first call came in a short time after 5:30 p.m., reporting that a person was seen in the river and that the caller could hear screaming.

Stimpson was reportedly caught in the fast-moving current while walking her dogs on her family farm.

The Weber County Sheriff's Office confirmed that Stimpson's dogs were later found unharmed, but the search for Stimpson continued.

Some more news articles -

There are two watch stations. One is at the Adams Avenue toll bridge just off I-84, and the other is just off mile marker 83 on westbound I-84.
(I tried to mark approximate locations on Google Maps)

Libby had phoned her husband Monday, saying their dogs had gone in, but managed to get out of the river. Then, according to Garside, Libby said she was "going back" because one of the dogs had lost a collar.

Some more info about the Weber River -

This is the gage height compared with the previous year. The water velocity on that day was about 3ft/sec, and water temperature about 47 degrees F.

From Uinta, the Weber River winds through Riverdale and Ogden, up to Plain City, and then down into the Great Salt Lake.

So incredibly heartbreaking
I really hope the message gets out to stay far away from moving waterways out west this year

Human remains found at Willard Bay, which is where the Weber River empties into the Great Salt Lake. No identity yet, but I immediately thought of Libby.

The current in that river was indeed treacherous when those pics were taken. It took my breath away just thinking about being in that river. SMH. Prayers for Libby and those who love and miss her.
