DAVIS COUNTY, Utah – An officer with the Unified Police Department was booked into jail after evidence was discovered that indicated he may have been involved in a sexual relationship with a minor, and the man was booked into jail and faces five counts of rape.

He is 25, victim is 17.

Vile. This belongs in the thread about the hundreds of police who have lost their licenses over sexual misconduct. But it will probably be dismissed by some as 'just allegations'...

Anson was employed previously by the West Valley City Police Department. West Valley police spokesperson Roxeanne Vainuku said Anson worked there for 1.5 years and was placed under investigation for violating department policy. During the course of the investigation he resigned - which effectively ended the investigation.

Vainuku would not give details about the alleged policy violation but did say it was not sexual in nature.

Ex-officer sentenced in sex with teen case that victim says she didn't want filed

A former Unified police officer who admitted to having sex with a teenage girl was sentenced Friday to community service and ordered to be placed on the sex offender registry.

But as the sentence was handed down Friday, the now 18-year-old woman begged 3rd District Judge Katie Bernards-Goodman for mercy on the former officer's behalf in a case she said she never wanted filed.
