  • Clothing & Personal Items: Wire-framed eyeglasses. A black jacket. Levi's denim jeans. A cowboy belt with a buckle. White sneakers. An orange cap with Conoco written on it.
  • Identifiers: Upper denture plate.
  • Other: Medical - Suffers from Alzheimer's Disease and internal bleeding.
Circumstances of Disappearance:
Shurtz left his residence in Cedar City, Utah on November 26, 2005. He was last seen later that day in Fillmore, Utah when he was issued a citation for driving the wrong direction on the freeway. He was driving a green 1996 Ford Ranger pickup truck at the time. He has never been heard from again.

Shurtz's vehicle was located off the Ute Exit 80 of Interstate 15 on December 1, 2005. It was stuck on a frontage road near the Valley of Fire, south of Mesquite, Nevada. Witnesses reported seeing the vehicle at the same location on November 28. He may have accepted a ride with another individual.

Authorities believe Shurtz may be in Escalante, Utah; Boulder, Utah; or Arizona. Despite multiple searches conducted including the aid of helicopter surveillance, Shurtz was never located. His case remains unsolved and his whereabouts are unknown.
