Roanoke police searching for woman officers last heard from in September

Not much to go on, officers last spoke to her 9/11/18 and someone filed a missing persons report on 10/5. This is only now being reported on by local media.

Her daughter says she’s been missing for more than a month. I’m so heartbroken that there has only now been any media recognition.

I found 56 separate charges for her by LE in Virginia - grand larceny, credit card theft, burglaries, assault, prostitution, etc. going back 13 years and one prison sentence of 2 years and 1 year probation (which was revoked). There is an unfortunate pattern of behavior that likely has LE wanting to find her.

UPDATE: Body found in Roanoke River identified

Police have identified the body recovered from the Roanoke River as Betty "Susie" Fitzgerald Britt, 53, of Roanoke. She was reported missing on October 5.

The Medical Examiner's Office determined the cause of death to be accidental drowning, and have attributed the death to the recent storms.

How sad... to have lived the life it sounds like she did and then to die this way... very sad for those who knew and loved her...
