Derrick Gray is missing.

“He was scheduled to board the Chinese Express bus at the terminal near West Broad Street and the Boulevard in Richmond to New York City at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 1st. Gray never boarded the bus and has not been seen since, “ a Richmond Police Department spokesperson said. “Gray does not have any known medical issues that could have disabled him so, there is a concern for his safety.”

The 43-year-old Farmville man is described as 6 feet 4 inches tall and weighing 280 pounds. He was last seen wearing a white tee-shirt under a black vest with a large red-and-white diamond pattern on the front, blue jean shorts, a white or light-colored ball cap and a single-strap sling-type backpack.

. . .In what was supposed to be a routine trip, Derrick Gray was dropped off at the corner of West Broad and North Boulevard around 8:30 a.m.

He was supposed to get on a Chinese Express bus that was going to take him to New Jersey, where he is originally from, pick up a family member and come back to Richmond. . .

. . .“We’ve contacted all the hospitals, we’ve contacted all the jails, we’ve contacted any official entity that he could be in or connected to and we can’t seem to locate him. So, time is definitely of the essence right now,” said a Richmond detective.

Police say they have been trying to locate Gray’s cellphone, which was still working, but so far there has been no answer.

Detectives used surveillance video to trace Gray’s movements. He was last spotted at 10:51 a.m. on June 1st heading east on Broad Street toward the McDonald’s at 2700 W Broad Street. . .

2700 W Broad Street--Derrick was heading east of W Broad Street towards this McDonald's, which is less than 1 block away from where he was dropped off.​

I hope that Derrick is OK, and will soon recharge his phone so that he may be quickly located. It seems very strange that there are no other camera sightings of Derrick along that busy road.

So he was dropped off, waiting for a Chinese Express bus, but didn't get on the bus.

I wonder if any passengers waiting for the bus at that same bus stop remember seeing him?
