Sheriff: 96-year-old woman with dementia, heart problem missing from Amherst Co.

Dorothy Reynolds was last seen around 9 p.m. Wendesday night on Rothwood Road at the intersection of Essex Court.

According to the sheriff, she was wearing white and blue leopard print bottoms and her top is unknown.

They said in addition to dementia, Reynolds also has a heart problem.

The Amherst County Sheriff's Office received a 911 call at around 9:07 am for a missing 96-year-old female with Alzheimer’s.
They said Dorothy Reynolds was last seen around 9 p.m. on Wednesday night March 6, 2019 at her home on Rothwood Road near the intersection of Essex Court. Dorothy is a light skinned African American female with grey hair, brown eyes, weight 107 lbs., height 5’2” , DOB 11/01/1922. Female was last seen wearing white and blue leopard print pajama pants and unknown top and shoes. They said in addition to Alzheimer’s, Ms. Reynolds also has a heart condition. It is believed that she may have walked away from her residence. She usually walks with a cane however the cane was left at her residence.
Multiple agencies are on scene searching for Ms. Reynolds.
Anyone with information on her whereabouts is asked to call the Amherst County Sheriff's Office at 434-946-9300.
