Lynchburg police are investigating an alleged sexual offense on Old Forest Road, in the same area where Lynchburg Gynecology is located.

Dr. Lewis Dabney just resigned from that practice this week, and now, a Virginia law firm is looking into claims of misconduct from some of his patients.
"We received a report on September 14, 2023, of a sexual offense that occurred in the 2700 block of Old Forest Road. No more details will be released. This incident is currently under investigation, anyone with information is asked to contact Det. T. Hall at 434-455-6155."
That report was filed two days after a Lynchburg woman posted a complaint on Facebook about Dr. Lewis Dabney of Lynchburg Gynecology. Since that post, dozens have expressed their own concerns about the doctor on social media.
On September 14, the same day the police received the report, Lynchburg Gynecology posted on Facebook that Dr. Dabney resigned.
"Right now, we're fact-gathering and speaking with individual clients," said attorney Ashley Davis with the Allen law firm.
The Allen law firm, based out of Richmond, is representing Dr. Dabney's patients.
They posted an article on Saturday, saying they are accepting cases for patients involved with Dr. Dabney.
"We started receiving clients a little over 24 hours ago and people continued calling us through the night. Since then, we have had multiple clients that have come forward and signed with us, and we are in the process of investigating those claims," Davis said
