Found Deceased VA - Georges Calim, Jr., 24, Petersburg, 11 Mar 2022

PETERSBURG, Va. (WRIC) — The Petersburg Police Department is asking for help finding someone who has been missing since Friday.

According to Petersburg Police, 24-year-old Georges Calim, Jr. was last seen Friday, March 11 at around 11 a.m. near the intersection of North Adams Street and East Tabb Street.

Calim, who stands about six feet tall and weighs around 185 pounds, was last seen wearing a black hooded jacket, black shirt, black jeans and black and blue sneakers.

Anyone with information regarding Calim’s whereabouts is asked to contact Petersburg Detective K. Mitchell at 804-732-4222 or Crime Stoppers at 804-780-1000.

Another article shows he was not seen after he made a court appearance - wondering if that had something to do with it:

"He was last seen on Friday, Mar. 11 on E. Tabb St. after he was dropped off at the General District Court. According to Deputy Chief Emanuel Chambliss, he made a court appearance but his whereabouts after that are uncertain".

The only arrest of record in VA requiring a court appearance is for a traffic infraction. He does have prior misdemeanors - weapons (concealed carry, likely since it's a misdemeanor he was carrying without a permit but was legal to own the weapon) and marijuana - none of which had any record of probation that would carry over into the current case. I can't imagine going missing over a traffic charge unless there are things not on record we don't know about that concerned him. Virginia Judiciary Online Case Information System

Georges J. Calim, Jr., 24, of Petersburg, VA, better known as “JJ”, departed this life on March 11, 2022. He was born on June 16,1997 to Georges J. Calim, Sr. and Janice O. Calim. He was preceded in death by his brother, Vincet T. Barner.
