The arrest warrant affidavit was unsealed yesterday:

The court documents detail conversations Matthew's family had with him following Graham's murder. His family members wanted to help the Graham family, and urged Matthew to talk to police right up until he vanished into the night, taking his sister's Nissan Sentra.

On Sept. 22, 2014, Matthew's aunt told police that she told him that she, "Needed him to go home and clear his head and think about what happened to the victim because she [Hannah Graham] is someone's child."

Jesse Matthew, convicted of killing two Virginia college students, has stage 4 cancer

News of Matthew’s transfer came as a surprise to Gil Harrington, whose daughter was abducted and murdered by Matthew in October 2009.

She was alerted Tuesday morning of his illness and transfer.

“He doesn’t loom big in my mind,” Harrington said. “He is contained and our mission is to help save the next girl, so I take comfort however this plays out. This is justice and perhaps karma.”
