Along with a memorial for Keeshae, the service featured many words of support for her family -- especially her mother -- hailing the work she did to keep Keeshae's story alive and bring her home. "So, we celebrate you lady. For every flyer that you posted. For every newspaper article that you spoke to," Artis said during the eulogy.

And with nearly eight years not knowing now behind them, the pastor told those gathered they can now focus on seeking that closure and to look to Keeshae's mother and the Almighty for how. "We celebrate and we remember her life because she lives inside of you. For thine is the kingdom, the power, and the glory, for ever, amen."

As for what exact information detectives said they got to allow Friday's service to happen, police said they hold a news conference to go into more details in the future.

Richmond Police Chief Rick Edwards delivered a significant update on the case Thursday, revealing that Otis Tucker, a man already serving a life sentence in Florida for another murder, admitted to disposing of Jacobs’ body.

Tucker, however, did not admit to killing Jacobs.

Tucker, who is currently serving a life sentence for the 2022 murder of Ashley Fowler in Florida, disclosed his involvement with Jacobs during a recent police investigation.

Despite the personal pain, Jacobs continues to host the event to support others affected by similar tragedies.

"It's a struggle. I have to get my mind right just to come out here because it brings back a lot of memories, heartache and pain," Jacobs explained. "But if it helps somebody, I'm OK. Even just to give somebody a hug that needed the hug at that moment — that's what I'm here for."

Jacobs has established a foundation in her daughter’s name to educate people about missing person cases while “serving as a beacon of light” for families experiencing the unimaginable.
