Davenport VA? I really had to go Google Maps for that one. Way out in the western part of the state in an area that only the locals are familiar with. IOW, you're not likely to run across it or near it while on a major route like I-81, Hwy 460 or 360.

Maybe I'm just suspicious from reading too many of these things, but the 'ol "I just let her out of my vehicle and never saw her again" story never sounds right to me.

Mmmm dropped off by boyfriend no where with witnesses and never seen again. Sounds like the usual story they tell.

This seems like a solvable case. Is there really nothing more that LE can do? Even today there are of public comments on Myra's Facebook that are disturbing. Who are these people, and what did they do to her, and why? All JMO.

I totally agree, the comments are super disturbing. August 16 she is posting about a new relationship her friends seem weary about and then she's literally missing like 2 weeks later. I cannot believe police have not done more in this case.

Maybe LE is working quietly behind-the-scenes.

I live in Southwest Virginia. Sad to see no answers.

Myra's niece posted a public photo album called "Myra, where are you..."

Attached are a couple of articles from the local newspaper - The Virginia Mountaineer.

Bumping up, very sad case.

Myra was reported missing the next day by her boyfriend who stated they argued and she exited the vehicle between the hours of 2-4:30 am on a public road. He reported Myra left walking in the opposite direction as he drove away. This area has no cell service and is very isolated. No stores, few homes, and very little traffic at that hour. The report included a statement that the couple had been to another couple's home approximately 5-10 minutes prior and that couple have given statements that she left there safely. She vanished. K9s were not able to detect her. Search and rescue teams have turned up nothing. No credible leads after one year.

Archived article from The Virginia Mountaineer, 8/31/25

<<During an interview with Hatfield in 2023, he stated that what made the Ramey case so difficult was the 14-hour gap between when Ramey was last seen and when she was reported missing. “She was last seen by her boyfriend Larry Vanmeter, who Ramey had recently met from Maryland,” Hatfield said. “Apparently, there was a disagreement, if you would call it that, but she demanded to get out of the vehicle on Indian Creek Road. He said he let her out of the vehicle on Indian Creek Road at one of the churches up there, and that was the last time he saw her.”

Barton does not believe Ramey ever got out of the Vanmeter truck because her phone and purse were left behind. “Somebody had to do something to her,” added Barton. “She just didn’t disappear into thin air. In this small community, everyone knew Myra; she grew up here.”

Investigator Hatfield told the Mountaineer that the incident occurred around 4 a.m. on Sept. 6, 2020, in the early morning hours>>
