The sheriff's office said Fitzgerald's vehicle has been located at an overlook on top of the mountain at the Confederate Breastworks, where there is currently a "heavy police presence," the release said.

An Augusta County man missing since last week was found by search crews walking along U.S. 250 near Ramsey's Draft the morning of May 19.

An Augusta County man missing since last week was found by search crews walking along U.S. 250 near Ramsey's Draft the morning of May 19.

Scott W. Fitzgerald, 33, of Mount Sidney, was taken to Augusta Health in Fishersville by Augusta County Fire-Rescue.
