''Simon owned and operated a family/local corner store after retiring from teaching. He was well known and well-liked by the community the corner store served. Around 6 a.m. the morning of January 13, Simon was found beaten and bloodied inside of his store by several regular customers. Simon was semi-conscious and transported to the hospital where he succumbed to his grievous injuries. Robbery is believed to be the motive, but the investigation never lead to any arrests.
