With the detailed dentals and the DNA, hopefully this Doe has a good chance of identification. So many from this long ago just don't have that information available.

There’s a man missing from the Norfolk Naval Station (about 15 miles from the State Park) since 1976. Terence/Terrence Tawney was 20 years old, 6’0”, 155 pounds and had brown hair. It looks to me like he could have a deviated septum. He’s not listed in any public database though, and it’s a little outside the estimated PMI.

ETA: It appears he has dental records available in NCIC. Terrance Rodney Tawney 1976 VA

Wow, his nose looks like it could have been broken/deviated in some way. It’s so sad, he had a baby on the way. I am almost exactly the same age as that baby.

I submitted the information to The Doe Network. Hopefully dental records can be compared.

My partner has a deviated septum. Hers is a lot less obvious than Terence/Terrance's, but it does show that kind of asymmetry in her face if you're looking for it.

I also have a deviated septum that is noticeable if you really look closely. Every 5 years or so, someone asks me if I ever broke my nose. I fell on my face when I was about 2, but not sure if it was related. But Terrance’s nose appears to have a noticeable deviation. And I’d guess the UID’s is quite prominent if they note it on a partially skeletonized body.

Seashore State Park was renamed to First Landing State Park in 1997. I visited there within the last 10 years. Beautiful place - lots of wooded areas, camping with cabins, etc. and the beach "across" the street. A map showing location is below - northern end/tip of VA beach.
