I was surprised there wasn't a post here already for the case of Vincente Menjivar.
I started with the information about the John Doe from the Suffolk County (Long Island, Ny) District Attorney's website, which has a page for unsolved cold cases. Here is the link, and screenshots of the available information:
Description of John Doe
I used that information to make a search in the NamUs database, where I found the missing persons case of Vincente Menjivar, age 47. (NamUs #MP21484). Link to his NamUs page and screenshots:
Vincente Menjivar on NamUs
Vincente is missing from Central Islip, which is around half an hour's drive from where John Doe was found in Manorville.
The circumstances of Vincente's disappearance were described as, "Individual left his residence & did not return. His belongings left behind", the cause of death of the Manorville John Doe was described as, "homicidal violence". Hypothetically, Vincente could have left his home in anticipation of a typical outing or interaction, and somehow encountered his attacker during that time.
The timeline and descriptions approximately line up, what does everyone think? I would think Suffolk PD has already looked into this potential match, since both cases are in their jurisdiction; do you think it was possible it was overlooked?
All input appreciated very much!
