After a recovery operation that took several hours, emergency crews pulled a woman's body out of the water Sunday night at Huntington Gorge.

Her identify was unknown and she was described as white, between the ages of 35 and 48, and about 5 foot 3 inches to 5 foot 5 inches tall.

According to Richmond police, she was wearing OD Green cargo-style shorts, purple sports bra and an neon orange shirt. Her fingernails were also painted neon orange. There were no identifying marks or identification on her body. Police also said there was no vehicle near where she was found.

Officials say she matches no known missing person reports in the area.

As of Monday, the body of the woman had yet to be identified. Police said after the news got out on Sunday, the public called with tips that pointed them to the possibility the woman hitchhiked to the Gorge. Richmond Police Chief Alan Buck said investigators will look into the circumstances of the death, including whether or not the death was a suicide.
