SUMMARY OF INCIDENT:

The Vermont State Police is investigating a missing-persons case involving an overdue hiker in Westmore.

VSP was notified on Thursday evening, Jan. 9, 2025, that Sue Mi Ko, 51, of Craftsbury was overdue in the vicinity of the Mount Pisgah trailhead. The state police is looking for information from anyone who has hiked the area in the past week and might have seen Mi Ko. Photographs of her are attached to this release.

There are no indications at this time that this incident is suspicious.

Anyone with information is asked to call the VSP barracks in Derby at 802-334-8881.

No additional information is currently available. VSP will provide updates as developments warrant.

I would really like to know when Sue set out on her hike and when she was expected back.
 
Vermont had some snow is the far Western part of the state that day, but looking at the historical weather map where she was at was mostly clear. Radar Data
 

WCAX reached out to police Saturday, and they confirmed that they are still actively looking for a missing Vermont woman who is overdue from a hike. They say they will be searching the Westmore area on both Saturday and Sunday,

Sue Mi Ko’s remains were found several hundred yards from the Mount Pisgah Trailhead. :(

WESTMORE, Vt. —
Vermont State Police found the body of a missing woman near Lake Willoughby in Westmore on April 30th.

The discovery of 51-year-old Su Mi Ko of Craftsbury was made during Search and Rescue Team training.
