WA WA - Alana Carroll, 33, from Battleground WA, last seen Vancouver, WA, 1 August 2023

Alana is featured in this week's The Vanished Podcast
I think it went well but I wish we had spoken more about Alana as a person. I feel like the ball got dropped there. I think we did a better job here. Unraveling Alana's Story: A Family's Search Grace is very soft spoken so she's hard to hear. You get what she's saying when you listen to our answers. Also, KOIN did a video here.

I thought I'd share another picture of Alana. She was beautiful inside and out. I really miss her.

There is a lot going on locally right now, with years long investigations coming to a head, that have nothing to do with Alana, that I know of, other than they are cases involving drugs....However, I don't doubt that at least some of the characters on the board over lapp cases and investigations.

That means you have info you have to keep to yourself, and while we all respect it, I empathize with how frustrating it must be for you. I know for a couple people I know personally, they had info from LE about their loved ones, but had to keep it quiet in order for the investigation and other things to run their course and fall into place.

ETA: A word
Sadly we may never know the truth and that is especially frustrating. People keep asking if she may be alive or think they have seen her. What I know makes that highly unlikely. I would love to believe she's okay somewhere but we don't believe it.

I understand. I really do. A couple people I know in the life, knew or knew of her. Unravelling the connections in this life is impossible. The local gossip does seem to confirm that she passed, but it is hard to know what is fact or made up fantasy to an addict.

I recently had a weird spate of new followers or friend requests on my SM, and in poking around to see who these people were, which I knew was related to my ex somehow, and seeing Alana's profiles on their lists was jarring, and reminded me how closely entwined this community is.

What i thought was my ex babbling about things he knew, about various things in the area was just him being high, but it was all true. He says people are told to not talk about Alana, and I do believe him.

I am so sorry. Someday, someone will talk and be believed.

Sadly I believe it. The guy who supplied Alana just died recently. If he was involved perhaps they will be more inclined to talk. Though they may be afraid of his brother. That guy is a nutbag. What that says to me however, is that it is a conspiracy to conceal her murder. You wouldn't have this level of secrecy for an overdose. Combined with what I know, it confirms it in my mind more than ever.

Girl message me. I need to know if it was one of the names I sent you

ETA and personally, I think they were committing a crime when she passed, a "lick", or had dealings with the cartel, and that is why they won't talk. I know the cartel is here they are even in battle ground and ridgefeild.

Back in November, KOIN posted an article about Alana's case: What happened to Alana Carroll?. I'm currently in contact with one of the ladies from the Murder in the Rain podcast, and they're planning to do an episode about Alana's case. We're working out a date for the interview. I can only hope that by raising more awareness, we can find out what happened to her. We'll continue to push for as much air time as possible.

It's challenging to stay positive sometimes, but I miss her dearly. We are determined to uncover the truth if we can. I know we may never find out the truth but if we don't keep trying to get exposure that chance becomes more slim. It's been 18 months and the trail grows ever colder.

Please pray for Alana and for us. Pray we find her and discover what happened.

You know I'll be watching. Because of you, Alana is adopted by me in my heart. You made her real. The drug world and culture in our area is just so bad. You and I both know the police are still digging at this, and a lt of people in the life know police is cracking down on drugs use, theft, camping, dealing, ect. They may only be in jail for the night, and locals think it is based on the change in politics, but I know it's more than that

I think they are trying to find people who will talk. About Alana, about Phil Harris, Mikey, and a couple other missing locals who were all struggling with addiction when they vanished.

None of our overdose deaths are reported to the public, and their have been a lot. IDK if you saw anything locally recently, but the one large bust in Orchards area...I don't think people realize the sheer volume sitting in this town. And since so much has been removed in the last few weeks, people are getting desperate.
I do know as of right now, most of those in the life have not realized the sweeps aren't about the change in our president, it's to get info, from the ones most willing to spill.

Speaking of Phil Harris, do we have a thread for him? I have never made one, Alana was the first one I requested we have.

If anyone is interested, Phil Harris is missing under similar circumstances, and he and Alana and Mikey all ran in the same circles. Phil's sponsor in NA/AA...well you know what I'm just going to stop, (ETA I removed what I wrote. At this time it doesn't pertain to Alana that I know of )

@Mod do we have a thread for Phil Harris?

ETA I went back and removed some things. I was writing with emotion, not facts. I apologize mods and friends. Shimona knows I feel very strongly about her niece and this case.

It's about time they started taking these missing persons cases seriously. They may be addicted but they're human beings and they deserve to be found and their families deserve answers. Someone knows something and if they have to arrest them to get information, I'm all for it.

I really hope they find Phil. If only more people got involved we might get somewhere. I don't think it's wrong to write with emotion either. We should care and be passionate about things like this. All of these people have to be somewhere. I hope and pray they are found.

I appreciate everything you do here. It's very awesome that you're getting so involved.

We finally had our recording session for Murder in the Rain podcast. I will share the link when it's officially online. I'm hoping we don't sound too crazy and presented Alana's story well. We were definitely emotional at times but really tried hard to share who she was and the circumstances surrounding her disappearance.

Here is the latest episode of Murder in the Rain podcast on Alana's case. Part 1 is out today.

My great nephew's grandmother Beverly Mills made this tribute video to Alana.
