Young Burn Victim Proves Doctors Wrong

Jami Bisi wasn't expected to live when she was admitted to the Harborview Medical Center burn unit as an 18-year-old Jane Doe. Her own mother recognized her only by her feet and her clothes. She was badly burned in a fire July 1, 1980.

Bisi says she has learned what's important. Friends. Her friend Barbara Sterbinsky stayed with her in the hospital and. after her seven-week stay, changed her dressings. Sterbinsky heard the first words Bisi said after the accidentr "I just want to get on my horse and ride far, far away."

thank you. Interesting that Cowlitz Jane Doe hasn’t been ruled out on her page as Barbara apparently is ruled out on the Doe’s Namus Page.

Despite this rule out I firmly believe that Barbara is Cowlitz Jane Doe.

It’s important to note that Barbara also has family ties to Tacoma.

Looking at photos it’s easy to confuse Barbara for being Indigenous and the Jane Doe had a S tattoo on her chest under her clavicle. Likely the initial of her last name. Sterbinsky fits this as well.

If this turns out to be true it will be a tragic outcome.

She helped a friend recover from a burning incident only to die of the same fate years later.
