Happy late birthday, Wendy. This one really hurts. It sounds like Wendy was just pushing the boundaries and rebelling like most free-spirited kids. It’s nice to know that she is, was, and has always been loved, even if we didn’t know her name for a while. She was beautiful. It’s infuriating to think of how many other missing reports LE didn’t investigate/didn’t even put on the books because they assumed the child had run away.

It is my conclusion that Wendy died sometime around the beginning of March 1983.

Ridgway claimed to have killed her in spring or summer. Wendy’s PMI showed that she had been deceased prior to May. This obviously rules out summer. March, April, and May are the months of spring. May can be ruled out since Wendy was killed before that month. Investigators believe that she was killed shortly after arriving in Washington, which probably would’ve been too early to have been April.

Therefore, Wendy Marie Stephens lived from October 10, 1968 to circa March 1983.
