SEKIU, Wash. - The Clallam County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help in finding a missing Sekiu man.

The sheriff's office says family reported that 63-year-old Edward Doherty was missing from his home Saturday morning. He lives near milepost 13 on Hwy 112 and Simmons St on a property with his family.

At the time of the report, the family had already been searching for Doherty for around six and a half hours.

Family along with members of the fire department, Clallam County Search and Rescue and the U.S. Coast Guard searched for Doherty but were unable to find him.

The search resumed Sunday.

Doherty is about 5' 10", 130 pounds with short brown hair and blue eyes. He is believed to have been wearing prescription glasses, camo-print slippers, an orange shirt with blue or green sweatpants and a black jacket at the time he went missing.

His family says he left his home on foot without his cell phone. He has a history of memory problems and a seizure disorder.

Anyone with information is asked to call Peninsula Communications Dispatch at (360) 417-2459.

Missing Sekiu man found dead | Peninsula Daily News

SEKIU — The body of a 63-year-old man who was reported missing from his home in Sekiu on Saturday was found on Monday.

Edward Doherty’s body was discovered in a heavily wooded area about three-fourths of a mile southwest of his home at 11:59 a.m. Monday, said Sgt. Amy Bundy.

The cause of death was likely exposure, she said, although there had been no formal ruling by the coroner as of 2:30 p.m. Monday.

“There was nothing suspicious around his body,” Bundy said.
