I did a search with a slightly lowered age range and found this guy who went missing in 2011 and appears to have the lip feature we're looking for: The National Missing and Unidentified Persons System (NamUs)

He's missing from Snohomish as well

No mention of clothing, watch or shoes.
One of three possibilities:
  • Nude
  • Been there so long that his clothing decomposed
  • Clothing/shoes accidentally disturbed by the homeless person who was digging in the area

The area where the remains were found are actually in an area called Martha Lake and there are a lot of homes there.

3rd Ave SE & 130th St SE
Google Maps

Sounds like you're familiar with the area, but after reading the Herald Net article, sounds like he was found in the woods just to the left of the pin. (Article says 100 ft south of 130th). Looks like enough woods to hide a body for a long time. But what do I know..I live in South Texas, woods aren't really "our thing".

There are "woods" in many neighborhoods in Washington state.

Including cities and bigger towns like mine in northwestern WA. Everett is a city, but there are lots of wooded areas there; lots of places to hide bodies.

He was ruled out. I called the medical examiner's office and they told me that the forensic anthropologist who examined the remains is certain that this John Doe couldn't have been younger than 20. The person I talked to believed that this fully rules out this MP so she didn't submit the tip further. That's probably why it's not listed on NamUs.

So this guy's not a match but I highly recommend calling the Snohomish Medical Examiner number to submit tips. They were so nice and knowledgeable!
Oh wow that is quite close. About a 20 min drive or so?

Did you end up submitting him?

The John Doe’s DOD was between 1999 and 2019. If Misael was our John Doe he could have died after the age of 16.

His NamUs (UP75023) was modified today. There is a total of 50 exclusions.

I think the two new exclusions are:

Robert Trower (MP58044) - Missing from Bremerton, Washington since 1983.
Mary Johnson (MP76879) - Missing from Tulalip, Washington since 2020.

I am not sure why he was compared to a female. Perhaps this is a mistake. However, Mary Johnson has been compared to another male Doe (UP120000).
