A Spokane Valley man, who told Tacoma police he killed his wife at their home because he believed she had sex with another man, will wait in jail until authorities decide what crime to charge against him.
Court documents by Chief Criminal Deputy Prosecutor Jerry Costello say Braffith called a corrections officer from outside the jail Saturday and said, I need to report a crime. Its murder and I need to talk to a detective.
He told police that the day before he had gathered information that clearly indicated to him that his wife had sex with another man.
Braffith said he argued with her, and there was some hitting, according to documents. He said he left the house, went to a friends house and then to a tavern, where he drank a schooner of beer and another drink. His wife called him repeatedly on his cell phone, demanding that he come home, and he eventually did, Braffith said.
He said he hit his wife in the back and that he blacked out and didnt remember anything else until the next morning, Costello wrote.
Wilcox said Braffith started dating Jamie Braffith nine years ago. She had one child, and they had three more together. She was pregnant when she died.
