Please help us to locate a missing Rock Island resident with autism. Jesse Robert Cadenas, 25, was last seen early this morning leaving his residence in the 300 block of Hammond Lane in Rock Island. Jesse is a 5’6”, 120lb Hispanic male with brown hair and brown eyes, wearing a tank top and/or a blue plaid shirt. He left riding a bicycle traveling in an unknown direction. His cell phone and keys were left behind. If spotted, please call Rivercom at 509-663-9911 reference Douglas County case #23D02957

#23D02957 - Missing Person Jesse Robert Cadenas

We are asking for the assistance of Rock Island area residents, with home camera systems, to review their recordings from 10:00 PM June 19th through 10:00 PM June 20th, for any possible recordings of Jesse passing by their locations. Jesse likely would have had is gray "Giant" brand mountain bike with him. Jesse is also not known to wear a bicycle helmet. Anyone with video recordings to report are asked to contact RiverCom Dispatch at (509) 663-9911.

The mother of a 25-year-old autistic man from Rock Island is asking for help from boaters on the Columbia River to look for her son along the shore from Rock Island southward.

Margaret Tiley says a search crew found the shoes and bicycle of her son Jesse Robert Cadenas on a trail close to the railroad tracks leading to the Rock Island Railroad Bridge.

She told KPQ News that searchers think Cadenas may have fallen into the river.


The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office organized a search effort on Saturday that extended into Sunday, and was called off Cadenas was not located in the area.

Deputies said Cadenas likely would have had is gray "Giant" brand mountain bike with him, and is not known to wear a bicycle helmet.

Tiley says she last saw her son at 10pm June 19 and noticed him missing at 8am June 20. He has been described as verbal, but reluctant to talk to strangers.

Anyone with information about Cadenas is also asked to call Rivercom Dispatch at (509) 663-9911.

On Saturday, a search party was formed to search for Cadenas and Rock Island residents were asked to review any camera footage they may have from 10:00 p.m. on June 19 to 10:00 p.m. on June 20.

The Sheriff’s Office is asking for anyone in the area and boaters in the water to keep an eye out and report anything that they feel may be associated with Cadenas.

On July 12, the Douglas County Sheriff's Office says a person on a boat touring the Columbia River near the Rock Island Dam reported what he believed to be a human body along the riverbank.

Deputies responded and confirmed that it was a human body partially submerged in the water.

On July 18, the coroner confirmed that the body belonged to Cadenas.
