John's cab was found abandoned at the intersection of 5th Ave & Madison midway through his shift for Checker Cab Co. He told his dispatcher he was taking the man to Spokane Valley. The dispatcher never heard from John again. Two hours later, another cab driver found John's cab, four blocks from 5th & Wall where he picked up his last fare.
The cab was unlocked and the windows rolled down. A knife John carried for protection was lying next to the driver's seat. There was no sign of a struggle in the cab. Both of his wallets were missing (one wallet for personal cash & ID and one wallet for cab fare money). There was no way to trace who the fare was. The cab's meter was off, but indicated the cab may have traveled a number of miles with the last fare. John had been driving his cab for a month. He was married and was celebrating his fourth wedding anniversary the day of his disappearance. John was described as a good employee, and as being in a good mood when he left for work.
John was wearing a white long-sleeved shirt with a red and blue checked pattern on the cuffs and collar, new blue jeans, blue low-cut sneakers with velcro fastenings, a gold-colored necklace with a brass ring, and a silver digital wristwatch with a silver band. John has a vertical 6" scar just above his navel, slants past his navel for a couple of more inches, a heart tattoo inside his forearm with 'AJ' inside it; a lightning bolt on right side of his heart, and a heart w/sword through it on left shoulder with a name blacked out. He wears eyeglasses with brown plastic frames, and he had long sideburns and a mustache at the time of his disappearance.
